Since we were already getting Claire's hair cut (repaired), we decided to have Paige's haircut too. (It was not a punishment.) We thought it would look cute for summer. Her hair had only ever been trimmed & it was getting sooo long. I forgot to bring my camera with me, so the pictures of Claire were taken with my phone... not bad. (Still working on trying to turn them... don't have time now). Claire had a REALLY hard time sitting still. We still can't figure out how Paige got her to stay still for so long.
Reese is 6 weeks old already & its gone by so fast. She is smiling & it's so CUTE! The trick is trying to get her on camera. She is sleeping so much better at night (longer is better). Can't wait until she sleeps all night every night. I do enjoy the one on one time with her now while everyone else is still asleep.

Hair Accessories

Claire found some bows & a headband this morning & thought it would be fun to put them ALL on. Maybe this will be her new look for summer :0) She was being so cute! I love having one on one time. This was the first night that Reese slept for 8 straight hours, Claire slept in until 8:00, Paige slept in until 9:00 and Reese went back to sleep until 10:00! It was the most perfect morning & not at all typical, but I was incredibly thankful for it. Maybe everyone is praying for me after the start of my week.....

Going short for summer

Summer seems like a good time for a shorter haircut. I'm not sure if that was Paige's motivation for cutting ALL of Claire's hair or not. It took all of 15 minutes while I was downstairs feeding Reese. So sad...... Claire's hair was finally long enough to curl, or put into ponytails. Her hair is not at thick as Paige's, or fast growing. It is going to be awhile before I can do anything with her hair. On the bright side, it should save time getting out the door, right?
This happened Monday. The week can only get better from here......

I took Claire to a professional to get her hair "fixed". She did the best she could. I'll post those pics & the after pics soon.

Claire turned 2!

Claire is finally 2! It could be her size, vocabulary, terrible two-esque tantrums & attitude and fearless personality that she already seemed two before now. She loves the movie toy story & can't get enough of Buzz & Woody. Claire wants to do everything her big sister does & like any good big sister she won't appreciate that until later in life. Paige is actually really patient with Claire most of the time, but they know how to push each others buttons. Happy Birthday to Claire!
Trying to be the best Mom I could be I attempted to make a Toy Story cake. My attempt failed- the icing was too runny, Reese needed to be fed & two little girls wanted to be my "helpers" in the kitchen. I promise to buy cakes until I have the time to make them (but I do love it, even though I'm WAY out of practice).

Mark's brother Dustin & his wife Brooke live about 5 minutes away. It was fun to have them over for Claire's party. She & her cousin Jacob are two days apart. They play so good together. We were outside blowing bubbles & Claire was trying to help Jacob. It is hard to take pictures when your hands are both busy! Jacob kept putting the bubble wand in his mouth & then would open his mouth & a bubble would come out. Wish I could have gotten it on camera.
We got Claire her very own bike. She loves to ride "paigey's bike", but it is too big for her. This one is just right, except for that girly stuff on the handle bars. I saw her pulling that out & had to laugh.

**I have to give credit to Mark for the pictures of Reese crying & Paige's close up. That might help you get a better idea of how things went! Looking at these pictures I realize I probably should have done something with the girl's hair. It was a restful (lazy) Sunday afternoon & I was too busy trying to get a cake finished.

Cousin visit & Memorial Day

We finally got to meet our newest cousin/nephew Blake. He is so big already! Ben & Jamie drove up from Provo for Memorial Day weekend. It was fun to have visitors despite the fact we were too busy with kids to do anything other than visit. It's always fun to be with family.
We tried to get all five cousins together, but between naps, feedings, etc. this is the best we could do. These are all the girl cousins in our family.

New discoveries

As you can see from the pictures, our vents are in the floor. The girls discovered this when the air was on & they had a blast laying on the vents. The novelty has worn off, but they occasionally like to cool off!

They also like to "hide" under the desk. I love Mark for taking this picture. They were playing dress up together- so cute!

Big Sisters

Paige & Claire love their baby sister Reese. Here are a few pictures to prove it. Sometimes Claire loves her a little too much & we have to intervene. We are trying to teach her to be soft & gentle with the baby. I'd rather she try to hug her than push her away.
