Theses pictures wouldn't post on the previous entry- had to include them so you wouldn't miss out on the fun.

Kira's Bridal Shower
I never actually mentioned when Matt purposed to Kira- only that they were dating. They're engaged & getting married on Sept 19th in the San Diego Temple. We are SO excited for them. Here are some pics from Kira's bridal shower the other night. Thanks for everyone came & helped. It was fun to spend time with Kira & I can't wait to get to know her better. She lives in Vegas & will move out here once they're married. She & Matt will be renting our house, so that worked out for all of us!
I know what you're thinking....
Paige cut her own bangs the other day. It was a crazy morning as it was & that topped it off. All I could think of was what I think when I hear that someone's kid has cut their own hair- "where were you (the parent) and how did they get a pair of scissors". Mark wondered the same thing. I will enlighten you & perhaps make you laugh along the way......
I was giving Claire a bath & Paige was brushing her teeth before she got in the tub. Somehow she managed to get toothpaste in her bangs (I have know idea how & when I asked her, she didn't either). I sent her to my bathroom to get a comb so we could comb out the toothpaste. It took longer than it should have & when I went to check on her the deed had been done. The scissors were on my bathroom counter & there was a chunk of hair in the sink. I know "why were the scissors on your counter where she could reach them?"- I had left them there after I trimmed her bangs the other day. They were already too short & I was afraid I'd need to even them out some more. NO excuse, they should've been put away. I more upset with her for using the scissors since I ALWAYS emphasize that we NEVER play with scissors. The chunk missing from her bangs should grow back pretty quick. We hope in 3 weeks it will look better since Mark's brother Matt is getting married & we'll be taking family pictures.
I took of picture of her with my phone & sent it to Mark at work. When Mark came home she was scared her would be really upset. She covered her bangs & said "oh no... we can't let daddy see my hole!". I had told her earlier that she cut a hole in her bangs & I couldn't fix it. Of course she said- "why?" I had to explain I couldn't make her hair grow back. I hope she learned her lesson- probably not which is why all the scissors in the house have been relocated to unknown & out of reach location.
Latest & the Greatest
In case you don't want to go through the entire blog to see what the girls are up to (Mark & I don't have anything exciting to report) here is the latest & greatest of what's happening:
Claire continues to prove to be an animal- although she is ALWAYS entertaining & able to flash her smile to save her from trouble. Her latest- in the spirit of the olympics she decided to climb out of her crib (Those not keeping track- she is almost 15 months old). I walked in as she was making her dismount & hanging from the crib railing. I turned the crib around the higher side was in front & the crib is already wedged in the corner ( I learned the turning around trick while watching an episode of the 'Gilmore Girls'. It worked with Paige -thanks Lorelai). So far, Claire hasn't had any additional successful attempts. I'm NEED her to stay in a crib or our life is over as we now know it.
Claire's greatest- there are a few...... she now LOVES to kiss. She's hasn't perfected (or even attempted) to use her lips. She comes straight at you with an open mouth. She's so cute & we love it! I'll have to try to get it on camera, but now when she sees the camera she says 'cheese' & poses in the cheesiest way.
Claire loves to climb on or in anything she can get to. Her favorite right now is climbing onto the table. We have learned to just put the chairs on top of the table to remove the temptation altogether.
The other day we were outside before Mark came home from work. Our sprinklers had been on too long & the backyard was a little soaked. She found a puddle & was having the best time splashing in the water. She was pretty pleased with herself as you can see ( I however was proud of myself for actually getting the camera out & capturing the moment).
Paige is ever dramatic & full of intellectual conversation (although if you can understand the made up stuff about Belle, Jasmine, the contracts & the castle- you're better off than us). She loves to ask "why?" after almost everything we say & occasionally we get a "huh?" which I particularly love (especially when I know she heard exactly what I said). She loves to dance & always adds the "tap, tap, tap" as she's tapping. We really need to get her in a dance class of some kind. Twice in the last 2 days she has decided to completely dress herself- Let's just say "Fashion Police". On Sunday before church she came out saying "I'm all ready for church". The pictures don't do it justice (oh... but the pose does!). She is wearing brown shoes (on the wrong feet) with black tights. The skirt was partially tucked in the back which we didn't notice until we had her turn around. What a riot! The next picture is of her in her "carla" or "color" dress (given to her by an awesome lady from church- named Carla). She put it on backwards so she could zip it up, on top of her clothes. The shoes & tights finish off the ensemble.
We love our girls & everything they do to make us laugh!
When you're in the mood.......
I'm not sure why it is, but things are so much easier when you're in the mood to do them.... for example- I'm trying to update my blog with the adventures, mishaps & just day to day monotany (sp?) that takes place in our house. I'm so far behind, but I get so inspired when I see everyone else can do it. Thus, I'm in the mood to blog & I've got to get caught up. That seems to apply to cleaning, exercising, baking, painting, etc..... Hopefully I'll get caught up soon.

Claire's 1st birthday... the Party
I'm on a roll & the computer hasn't frozen (yet), so here goes.... Claire's 1st birthday has already been blogged. We did have an actual party for her with family, presents and of course the messy 1st cake. Leave it to me to not think about a LOT of red dye in frosting on the face of a 1 year old... just check out the picture of Claire to see what I mean. I was excited to put my cake decorating skills to work & was impressed with myself. Thanks to everyone who came to the party.. it was fun to get together. It was nice to have Josh home (after missing 2 years of family get togethers). Claire loved everything (& Paige did too. Why does the 3 year old love the toys for her sister???? Drives us crazy because Paige still believes all toys belong to her & if she shares them with her sister she's being nice...... but heaven forbid if Claire touches, the barbies, ponies, dress up stuff, etc...)
US Open
In an attempt to use my blog as journaling, there are a few things we've done where we don't have pictures, but I don't want to forget about. Mark bought tickets for the PGA US Open over a year ago & we were excited to spend the weekend in San Diego. It was at the Torrey Pines golf course in La Jolla (There was strict no recording devices, camera, cel phone, etc policy..... all of it had to be left behind- thus no pictures). It was very fun-especially for Mark who LOVES golf. I really enjoyed it too! Mostly spending time with Mark... just the two of us (of course we missed the girls). It was fun to see the golfers up close & to see how good the pros really are. Mark was able to get a ton of autographs & bring home some souvenirs for Father's Day. Its been so long since I've blogged- I missed Father's Day altogether. So- here's a tribute to my sweet husband & best friend- You are such an amazing dad! Thanks for loving our girls to pieces & for taking care of our family. You're the best & I love you!!!! Of course, my Dad is also wonderful. I love him so much & am so thankful that he has become such an awesome Grandpa! Our girls absolutely adore him... So happy (super) belated father's day!
Picasso who???
I had to take a picture of this.... Paige was "helping" me paint the bathroom. I was almost finished and Paige REALLY wanted to help with the actual painting. She was in the bathtub playing with the tape and when I finally looked up to see what she was doing she had created tape art... I was so impressed with her imagination and creativity on this. It was 100% her! I asked her about it & she said she made a clown.

It's about time.....
Hard to believe September is almost here and I haven't blogged since early June..... Not that there's really been a lot to blog about, but something worth sharing????? Our computer hasn't been working or it's been "goofin' up" as Paige says. I'll try to recap the last few months....
We thought it would be a good idea to take the girls to see fireworks this year. In our little un-incorporated city (until oct anyways) they have fireworks the week before the 4th... supposedly they get a better deal on the fireworks?? I'm doubting that.... I will admit I'm spoiled by Disneyland fireworks, but these were pretty pathetic. We kept thinking they were saving up for the finale... they didn't. However, it was fun & the girls were surprisingly well behaved for having to stay put- especially Claire. Paige & Claire both enjoyed watching the fireworks despite it being late & past their bedtime. Paige kept trying to reach for them (maybe she thought she could catch them?). The noise didn't seem to bother them & all in all it was a fun family outing. We had fresh kettle corn that was SOOO Good! Sorry for the close up of me... but I usally take the picture & didn't want to be left out of another family event.
On the actual 4th of July when most people celebrate, we got together with my sister Melissa's family. We swam, barbequed & watched the fireworks that night in Canyon Lake.... much better fireworks display. Sorry, but neither one of us took pictures, but we had a good time.
